Level 3 orientationOperating constraint

Declaration basis

The principles ProsperApps intends to use as real operating constraints.

This is the basis ProsperApps is using to shape product design, data practices, pricing behavior, company incentives, and leadership choices. It is not meant as decorative positioning. It is meant to influence what the company actually builds and how it behaves.

Level 1

The Guarantees We Uphold for our products and solutions:

  • No Lock-In, No Lock-Out. Your data is yours. We guarantee full interoperability, data portability, and complete ownership and control of your information. If you choose to leave, nothing stands in your way. If you're coming from another solution, we support open standards to make bringing your data in just as seamless.
  • Privacy and Data Ownership Are Fundamental Rights. You will always have full control over who can see your data and why. We offer the option to fully encrypt personal data - files, emails, documents, and communications - so that neither we as your service provider, nor any third party or government, can access it.
  • Data Minimalism, Not Data Exploitation. We will never collect, request, or mine data beyond what is genuinely needed to deliver a great service. Our customers and users are human beings, not exploitable sources of data.
  • Healthy Design, Always. You will never encounter manipulative dark patterns designed to hijack your attention, foster addiction, distort perception, or cause mental harm.
  • Quality Without Compromise. We will never degrade the quality of any of our solutions to increase profit or to serve priorities unrelated to the solution's purpose - unless compelled by circumstances genuinely beyond our control.

Level 2

Our Commitment to the Society and World We All Depend On.

  • Purpose Beyond Profit. We take care and pride in building solutions intended to make the world better - not solely to generate revenue.
  • People, Not Just Users. We care about the lives and wellbeing of our customers and users beyond the transactional interactions they have with us.
  • Own Our Impact. We are committed to minimizing negative externalities from our operations, product decisions, and supply chains.
  • Wider Responsibility. We care about the societies we operate in and the health of the planet.

Level 3

Non-Profit Owned in Perpetuity to Protect the Public Benefit Mission.

  • All Profit Serves the Mission. Any after-tax profit taken from the company goes directly to the non-profit that owns it.
  • Independence by Design. No private individuals or corporations hold shares, stand to profit from operations, or have the power to alter how the company operates — ensuring the non-profit can hold the company true to its mission at all times.
  • Fair Compensation, No Windfalls. Everyone employed by the organization, including leadership, receives a decent and reasonable salary and benefits commensurate with their competency, responsibility, and effort.

How to read it

Each higher level adds obligations rather than replacing the lower ones.

  • The declaration should influence architecture, data handling, customer treatment, growth choices, and staffing decisions.
  • Level 1 covers trust, portability, privacy, healthier UX, and quality retention.
  • Level 2 adds broader responsibility for external effects and real-world consequences.
  • Level 3 changes who ultimately benefits from success and what the company is incentivized to optimize for.

Why it matters

Ownership changes what a software company can honestly promise

The strongest guarantee here is not only about product behavior. It is also about where success flows, what gets rewarded internally, and whether the company can hold a long-term line when short-term extraction would be easier.
